Are you looking for a program for you and your children that is fun, healthy and very affordable?
Have you been batting around the idea of getting involved with a relaxing outdoor activity that simulates both mind and body? Well, look no further than the nearest tennis court.
For over 20 years, Tennis NWT has been working in conjunction with the Yellowknife and Fort Smith Tennis Clubs to promote the sport to everyone, from beginners to high performance athletes by integrating the Try, Learn, Play and Compete approach initially developed by Tennis Canada.
As a non-profit organization, our objective is to bring individuals of all ages and abilities together to enjoy the benefits of fresh air, good people and exercise, by participating in a sport that can be played for a lifetime. The rewards are endless.
Both Tennis Clubs in the NWT offer tennis lessons for children and for adults. Lessons usually begin in June and continue throughout the summer. Group lessons are designed for everyone, depending on ability and concentrate on providing participants with the essential skills necessary to play tennis. Tennis Canada certified coaches are available in both communities. Junior high performance lessons are also offered by the Yellowknife Club year round. Several Junior and Open tournaments offer everyone a chance to showcase their tennis skills, meet new friends and get lots of exercise, all in an environment of friendly competition.
