Tennis NWT is seeking expressions of interest from individuals interested in participating in Tennis Instructor Training from May 16-19, 2025. A strategic goal of Tennis NWT is to develop northern tennis instructors to support tennis in the Northwest Territories and support the development of Tennis NWT’s Junior Development (Children and Youth) and other tennis programs in the NWT.

Tennis Instructor Training Overview
Instructions are trained to introduce players to the game using Progressive tennis in group lessons (1.0-2.5 level) at tennis clubs, community courts and in school gyms. This course develops the leadership skills of an enthusiastic instructor who organizes practice and play, make tennis accessible and simple to learn, and promotes friendships that support the group retention of starter players.

Commitment: 4 days – May 16-19, 2025
Minimum Age: 16 years (may take course at 15 years and be evaluated but can only be certified on or after 16th birthday)
Prerequisites: Minimum level of play: 3.0
Role in Industry: Beginning Instructor (Summer Camps and Clinics, Seasonal Clubs and Clinics)

To maintain active certified professional status: TPA membership in addition to professional development every 4 years )or another certification course).
We need a minimum of 6 participants to run the course. Tennis NWT will subsidize registration fees for participants.
