Tennis Clubs in the NWT offer tennis lessons for children. Lessons usually begin in June and continue throughout the summer. As well, we have winter program from October to May so tennis lessons are offered year round. Group lessons are designed for everyone, depending on ability and concentrate on providing participants with the essential skills necessary to play tennis. Tennis Canada certified coaches are available in three communities. Junior high performance lessons are also offered by the Tennis NWT year round. Several Junior and Open tournaments offer everyone a chance to showcase their tennis skills, meet new friends and get lots of exercise, all in an environment of friendly competition.

Tennis in Schools
The Tennis for Schools Program offered by Tennis NWT is based on a curriculum created by Tennis Canada in collaboration with Physical and Health Education Canada (PHE Canada). The curriculum, which is based on Progressive Tennis principles, delivers quality programming that supports the development of fundamental hand-eye coordination and motor skills. It can be offered during already scheduled physical education classes in the same and familiar setting of the school gymnasium.
